Guided Day at Teine Highland Ski Resort – February 27th, 2024
Today, I had the pleasure of guiding at Teine Highland Ski Resort.
Although it doesn’t attract as much international attention as Niseko or Rusutsu, Teine Highland is a favorite among locals thanks to its high-quality powder snow and easily accessible off-piste terrain.

This year, by the end of February, temperatures across Hokkaido had risen unusually high, and at most resorts the snow had already begun to melt. Finding fresh powder at this time of year was nearly impossible.
But that’s exactly when the skills of a guide come into play.I took my guests to some secret spots – places that even most locals don’t know about.
And then…
Despite it being the end of February, we found powder snow that felt just like mid-season. The snow quality was so good that everyone was shouting with joy as they rode through it.
By carefully considering factors like crowds, weather conditions, and competition for lines, we were able to provide the best possible powder snow experience. This kind of guiding is only possible because we are locals who have spent years riding these mountains and know every detail of their character.
Another advantage of Teine Highland is its easy access from Sapporo. After skiing, you can enjoy a fun evening around Sapporo Station, making it the perfect combination of city and mountain.
If you want to enjoy skiing or snowboarding in Hokkaido without too much hassle, be sure to include Teine Highland Ski Resort in your plans.
